The tuition fees from 1 January 2022are:

  • EUR 9,500.00 per academic year for Bachelor´s programmes, and
  • EUR 10,500.00 per academic year for Master's degree programme

The updated fees will apply to new degree students starting their studies from 1 January 2022 onwards.

Students who start their studies on 1 August 2024 onwards, need to pay the whole tuition fee for the first two semesters at once.

Please note that housing costs, meal plans or health insurance are not included in the tuition fee. So, make sure you have enough financial means to pay your rent, personal expenses, transportation costs, meals, insurance etc.

Finnish immigration service requires that you have at least EUR 560 at your disposal every month to be able to pay for your accommodation, food and other needs. So, in addition to the tuition fee, you must have EUR 6,720 to be able to study in Finland for a year and to get a residence permit in Finland. More information about the income requirement for students is available onthe Finnish immigration service's website.

Haaga-Helia UAS uses Flywire service for tuition fee payments. We will send payment instructions together with Flywire payment link to all students who are required to pay tuition fees.

Information regarding tuition fees for existing students

A student should be prepared to pay half of the annual tuition fee before enrolling for attendance for the next academic semester. The tuition fee payments for spring semester are due in November, and the tuition fee payments for autumn semester are due in May.

Students who are required to pay the tuition fee will receive instructions from Study Services via email.

Who does not have to pay the fee?

You are exempted from paying tuition fees if you have one of the following residence permits in Finland:

Finnish universities and universities of applied sciences make the decision whether you are required to pay fees or not based only on the Finnish Immigration Service’s residence permit decision, which is checked from the copy of your residence permit card attached to your application documents.

Haaga-Helia adheres to the national policy, where the exemption from the tuition fee depends on the status of the residence permit on 1 August in the autumn term and 2 January in the spring term. If the residence permit is valid on 1 August, no payment is required for the autumn term. If the residence permit is valid on 2 January, no payment is required for the spring term. If you have applied for a residence permit but have not received the decision by the date when the tuition fee is due, you will have to pay the fee.
